STRUCTURED CABLING & NETWORK CONTRACTOR · MALAYSIA

New router. Same failure. It's delivery, not technology. It didn't fail because of you — the contract never required it to succeed.

Built to last beyond the invoice — surveyed before it's built,
documented before handover. One engineer, answerable long after you've paid.

84%

of Malaysian SMEs experienced connectivity failures during remote and hybrid work.

You assumed: "It's just the ISP."

86 min

of productivity lost per employee per working day — not outages. Slow, unreliable connectivity that no one has formally documented.

You assumed: "It's not that bad."

67%

of ransomware victims in Malaysia are SMEs — most compromised through flat, unsegmented networks installed without a security architecture.

You assumed: "We're too small to be a target."

3,201

complaints filed with MCMC against Malaysian ISPs in 2024 — service failures your ISP considers normal, your business cannot afford to.

You assumed: "The ISP guarantees uptime."

25 employees. 86 minutes. 250 working days.
At RM 25 per hour — that is RM 225,000 in productivity lost each year to downtime you assumed was normal.

How we calculated this
25 employees × 86 min/day ÷ 60 × RM 25/hr × 250 working days = RM 224,583/year. Adjust for your team's actual rate and headcount. The variable that changes most is your hourly labour cost — at RM 40/hr the figure exceeds RM 358,000.

But these numbers are just symptoms.

The real failure happened before your first cable was ever run.

THE STANDARD CONTRACT PROBLEM

Not the wrong vendor.
The wrong contract.

And the failures they were never written to catch.

✗

No pre-installation site survey.

You are paying to install what the contractor assumes your site needs — not what it actually requires.

✗

No engineering documentation.

When a fault occurs six months later, no record of what was configured exists. Every technician starts from zero.

✗

No VLAN segmentation.

Your CCTV cameras, accounting software, and staff devices share the same network. One compromised device reaches all the others.

✗

No dual-WAN failover.

One ISP line. When it drops, everything stops — for however long it takes them to respond.

✗

No post-handover accountability.

When the invoice is paid, the contract is complete. There is no obligation to return, no support commitment written in.

✗

No named engineer.

The technician who installed your network may not be the person who responds when something fails — if anyone responds at all.

"We don't even know what router we have or where the wires go."
— A phrase we hear from every second client who calls us after their previous contractor has gone.

You didn't get a bad contractor.

You got a standard contract — designed to end at installation.

→ Here is why it keeps happening — and what it's actually called.

THE ARCHITECTURE FAILURE

The problem is not the hardware.

You moved that access point three times. You swapped the router. None of it was ever the fault.

The problem is that the contract you signed was never designed to produce a reliable network. It was designed to produce an installed network — and those are not the same thing.

A standard installation contract ends at handover. No survey obligation. No documentation requirement. No support commitment. No single engineer whose name is on record and whose accountability extends past the final invoice. When the contractor leaves, everything they knew about your site leaves with them.

The fix is not a faster router. The fix is a delivery standard designed never to end at handover.

If your business is expanding now — particularly in Johor or Selangor — the timing matters.

Why the window is now

  • Every SME entering the Johor-Singapore economic corridor needs a full office network built from the ground up. The window for doing it properly — before operations pressure forces shortcuts — is before the expansion, not during it.
  • The Selangor dark fibre rollout now reaches the building — but the LAN inside is still the contractor's problem to solve.
  • E-invoicing became mandatory for Malaysian businesses in 2025, meaning every cloud-dependent workflow now exposes whatever was installed and never documented.

The right moment to engineer a network properly is before the expansion forces it. → This is what that standard looks like.

CONNECTIVITY CORE

Five layers. Each ends one failure for good.

When all five hold, the failures you live with today simply stop.

Pre-Build Survey

Your site is assessed before a single cable is purchased. Coverage dead zones, interference sources, structural constraints — mapped and resolved on paper before they become problems in the wall.

Written survey report delivered before installation begins.

Engineering Design

A network designed for your actual usage — not the generic layout a standard contractor quotes from. VLAN segmentation, AP placement, WAN routing, and failover logic specified before the first drill is run. When your team expands, the VLAN isolates the new floor without rerouting the existing one.

Engineering design document signed off by you before work starts.

Installation & Configuration

Every device configured to the engineering spec. No improvisation on site. No "we'll adjust it later." Named engineer on site for the full installation — not a subcontracted team.

Named engineer on site for the full installation. Not a subcontracted team.

As-Built Documentation

Every cable run, every port assignment, every configuration setting — documented as it was built, not reconstructed from memory after the fact. Delivered to you at handover as a physical and digital record.

As-built documentation package: yours at handover, updated at every change.

Support & Monitoring

Named engineer. Annual Maintenance Contract. Remote monitoring dashboard with alert thresholds configured and tested before handover: ISP link failure, AP offline state, CPU utilization above threshold, and WAN failover trigger — all set before you sign off.

One named contact. One direct line. No helpdesk queue.

This is the engineering foundation.

What it makes possible next is why the businesses that complete Connectivity Core rarely look for another IT contractor again.

→ This is where your network stops being infrastructure and starts being intelligence.

THE INTELLIGENCE LAYER

INSYTX Intelligence

Most businesses know what their network looked like when it was installed.
INSYTX Intelligence changes what you know about your network right now.

From: a network that works until it doesn't.
To: a network that tells you what it's doing — before anything stops.

Proactive Monitoring

Your engineer knows your network is degrading before your staff notice anything has changed.

Anomaly Detection

Unusual traffic patterns flagged before they lock out your staff or trigger a ransomware event.

AI-Augmented Oversight

Pattern recognition across all connected devices, surfacing faults before they become failures.

One Dashboard

Your network visible and actionable in real time, from any device.

Connectivity Core is delivered by Digital Infotech. INSYTX Intelligence runs on top of it — same team, same named engineer, same continuous accountability.

F&B · Shah Alam, Selangor Pending attribution
"We lost the POS system on a Friday evening. Every table was queued and we had no way to process payments. The contractor who installed our network had moved offices — we couldn't reach him. We called Digital Infotech at 9 PM."

The fault

A single-WAN configuration with no failover. The ISP link dropped. Nothing else existed.

After Connectivity Core

Dual-WAN with automatic failover tested at commissioning. The next ISP outage happened four months later — the backup link activated in under a minute. The team never stopped taking orders.

The fault

No as-built documentation, no named engineer, no post-handover support obligation.

After Connectivity Core

Full network audit and documentation package produced. New floor integrated into existing VLAN architecture. One named engineer — briefed on the full history because the history was documented.

Here is what the actual delivery standard produces — and why it lasts. →

WHAT YOU ACTUALLY GET

Four standards. Each ends a class of failure.

Pillar 01
Named Engineer. Full History.
You Get

One engineer whose name is in your contract before work starts. The same engineer who surveyed, built, and configured your network answers when you call.

  • Standard IT contracts in Malaysia have no post-handover support obligation written in. When the invoice clears, the accountability clears with it.
  • A generic helpdesk cannot diagnose a fault in a network they have never seen.
  • Every support call starts from zero — rebuilding context you already paid someone to establish.
Pillar 02
Documented From Day One.
You Get

A complete as-built documentation package at handover. Updated at every change. Yours — not stored on a contractor's server you no longer have access to.

  • Without documentation, every expansion is a discovery process — and you pay for that discovery in time, errors, and rework.
  • When staff change, network knowledge leaves with them. When contractors change, it starts again.
  • An undocumented network cannot be audited, insured, or transferred without risk.
Pillar 03
Security Architecture, Not Security Afterthought.
You Get

VLAN segmentation designed into the engineering spec before installation begins. Not added on request. Not billed as a separate scope. Standard.

  • On a flat network, every device can reach every other device. Your CCTV cameras, accounting software, file server — one network, no walls between them.
  • One compromised CCTV camera is a direct path to your accounting system. 67% of ransomware victims in Malaysia are SMEs.
  • VLAN segmentation is not an optional upgrade. It is the first line you draw before anything else is configured.
Pillar 04
Failover That Works When It Matters.
You Get

Dual-WAN failover configured, tested, and verified before handover. If the primary ISP drops, the secondary takes over. Confirmed at commissioning — not assumed.

  • A single ISP line is a single point of failure. When it drops — and it will — your entire operation stops with it.
  • Most failover configurations in standard SME networks are installed but never tested at commissioning. The failover is theoretical until a real outage proves otherwise.
  • By the time you discover the failover doesn't work, the outage has already cost you.

Already have an IT vendor? If your current vendor produces as-built documentation, names an accountable engineer in the contract, segments your network by VLAN, and provides structured post-handover support — keep them. If they don't, Connectivity Core fills the gap the current contract doesn't cover.

THE BUSINESS CASE FOR DOING IT PROPERLY

Capital investment — not a maintenance expense.

At 4% a year, BNM financing makes the maths impossible to argue with.

BNM's The program name refers to BNM's facility scope — it is not restricted to agricultural businesses. SMEs across all sectors including professional services, F&B, retail, and light manufacturing qualify. Confirm current eligibility at scoping. offers financing at 4% per annum, repayable over up to 10 years.

At that rate, Tier A costs less per month than the productivity loss your team absorbs in a single day of poor connectivity.

ADF Monthly (10yr @ 4%) vs. One Day of Downtime
Tier A — up to 20 staff ~RM 182 / month RM 900+
Tier B — 21–50 staff ~RM 295 / month RM 2,150+
Tier C — 51–100 staff ~RM 527 / month RM 4,300+

Downtime cost calculated at RM 25/hour labour rate × team size × 8 hours. Adjust for your team's actual rate.

The comparison is not "can we afford this." The comparison is "can we afford not to."

ONE ENGINEER. ONE ACCOUNTABILITY. NATIONWIDE.

Digital Infotech deploys nationwide.

One engineer owns your outcome — wherever you are, never a stranger. One standard. One direct line. Nationwide.

For our Labuan IBFC client, the same engineer who designed the network in KL flew to Labuan for commissioning. No subcontracting, no knowledge gap at handover, no second person who needed to be briefed on what was built.

Whether your office is in Shah Alam or Kota Kinabalu, the engineer accountable for your outcome is named in your contract before the first site visit — and that does not change with geography.

When the network is right, INSYTX Intelligence runs on top of it. Same team, same engineer, same continuous accountability — wherever you are.

YOUR NETWORK IS COSTING YOU MORE THAN YOU THINK

Find out what downtime costs you — in RM, not guesses.

Calculate your real cost before the next outage does it for you.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE

Every objection, answered directly.

Why is there a minimum engagement of RM 18,000?

Below that threshold, the 5-layer standard cannot be delivered without cutting scope. A pre-build survey, engineering design, full documentation, VLAN segmentation, and dual-WAN failover cannot be done properly for less. Every layer depends on the one before it — we do not offer a partial standard.

We already have an IT vendor. Why would we change?

You don't have to. If your current vendor produces as-built documentation, names an accountable engineer in the contract, segments your network by VLAN, and provides structured post-handover support — keep them.

If they don't, Connectivity Core fills the gap the current contract doesn't cover.

How long does installation take?

Tier A: 3–5 working days on site, preceded by the survey and engineering phase. Tier B: 7–10 working days. Tier C: 12–18 working days. Timeline confirmed in writing after the scope is agreed.

What happens if something fails after installation?

The 12-month defect liability period covers all faults attributable to the installation. If something fails in the first year, we fix it — no labour charge, no parts debate. After the defect period, the Annual Maintenance Contract provides ongoing support with the same named engineer.

Can you deliver this outside Kuala Lumpur?

Yes. We operate across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan. The named engineer assigned to your project is accountable regardless of geography — no subcontracting without written accountability. Travel and accommodation costs for remote sites are scoped into the fixed price.

What if we expand after installation?

Connectivity Core is designed to scale. The as-built documentation means any expansion — additional floor, additional staff, additional sites — starts from a known baseline. Expansion scopes are quoted separately, with the same engineer who built the original network.
